Think About....Talk About....Write About.....

Here's a great board.   I would want it in my room as much to remind me what to do as to help remind the kids what to do.  This is a vintage one from "Art with Mr. E."

Art Makes Children Powerful

Here's an interesting board.  This teacher found the quote on Pinterest and took it from there.  Here's their blog:   Art in the Big Green Room.

Right Brain Bulletin Board

Katie Morris is a prolific bulletin board creator.  Here's one with the theme of "left brain and right brain."  That will go right along with what I am teaching the first few weeks of school.

Katie's blog is Art Teacher Adventures.

Lego Love

I promised my school counselor months ago that I would put up a showcase featuring a Lego set assembled by one of her special groups.  I never got around to it.  She reminded me this week that she still wants to display it, so I got on it.

The problem with the showcase at my school is that it is really two separate showcases.  Her display would fill only one side, and I didn't know what to do with the other side.

I used to do a lesson with my second graders when they were studying simple machines.  We used Legos to create wacky cars and then we would race them.  What better to put beside a Lego display than a Lego display.

My kids made and raced those cars today and then I was able to put up both sides of the showcase.  The rest of the day, when I walked by the displays, kids were glued to the front of the display.  And they begged me to let them do the same lesson.

This board was done by a classroom teacher for Back to School Night or some gathering of parents.  So cute!

Guess Who?

I want to think about how I can use this for art.  This board is over at Buchlady's Blog. images.

Tree of Life

I found this one on Pinterest.  Yay, Pinterest!

It came from this site:  Zart.  I think it is a site that sells Art Supplies, but has work done by students.

Rainbow Hair Everywhere!

This was a pleasing and simple idea I found on a kindergarten blog.  Kindergarten Rocks!

Go to her site and you can get the poem that goes with this.

Snowman Yourself

I am so sad I forgot to take photos of these earlier.  Some first grade and kindergarten classes had photos of every kid in the class on a snowman.  They were hilarious.

Evidently, they saw some at another school that were based on those "Elf Yourself" animations you see at Christmas.

Winter Bulletin Board

Art with Mr. E posted this a while ago.  It seems like a good time to year to post a link.
