Right Brain Bulletin Board

Katie Morris is a prolific bulletin board creator.  Here's one with the theme of "left brain and right brain."  That will go right along with what I am teaching the first few weeks of school.

Katie's blog is Art Teacher Adventures.

"Back to School Night"...in a pinch

Last year, my schedule was so packed, I didn't have time to do my normal filling of bulletin boards and showcases.  This year, our schedule has lessened up, and my administrators gave me one block a week to hang art work.  Yay!!!

Tonight is our "Back to School Night" and I had so many boards and a showcase to fill.  These are a couple of my solutions to the need for a quicky display.

Here's a good hallway board for back to school.  It is from the blog, "The Soladay Family."
She has a lot of shots of her gorgeous art room, bulletin boards and showcases that will give you some ideas, so check out her blog post.

fantastic, incredible and colorful birds

I don't know that this is a bulletin board, but I am thinking about doing this on one of my back to school boards.  I have so many to fill!

Check out the beautiful work at Shana Gutterman's blog.

I Like Art Because......

I love this idea!  I'm thinking that it might be one I do for my end of the school year display, which can also kick of the new school year.  You can find this and other wonderful things at "Art with Ms. Chiddo."

I found this on Pinterest.

Back to School - Food Theme

These ideas were sent to me from Amy Kratochvil, K-6 Art Teacher, Big Bend Elementary. Thanks so much, Amy!

Notes from Amy:  Each year, our building has a school-wide theme.  We've done music, animals, sports, colors, ocean, etc... but this year is food!  We are Hungry For Learning!  For my art room (and the many display spaces in the hallway), I love incoporating the theme into my bulletin boards.
"Art Room" is the bulletin board everyone sees when they walk in my room.  Each popcorn container at the bottom includes art vocabulary words.
"Hallway-Kids" is a rasterized image of The Scream and the speech bubble says "Summer is over?!?".  The next speech bubble is going to say "Parent/Teacher Conferences are next week?!?"
"Hallway-teachers" I believe is stolen from another website, but it went with our food theme so well, I just had to use it!
"Magnetic Wall" is a selection of scrapbook papers (cheapest posters EVER!) that go with the theme and provide a large pop of color.
Thanks for putting together such a great website!

National Arts in Education Week - Back to School

I needed to put up a new showcase for "Back to School Night."  Luckily, it was during National Arts in Education Week.  I love when I get to do some arts advocacy!

I got several compliments on the showcase, but I know it was because I used my secret weapon.  Glitter!!!!!!!!!!   Get's 'em every time!

Open House Display

Here's a great idea for an open house display.  One of the greatest things is that the labor is almost all done by kids.  Check out Hannah's blog at:  Art. Paper. Scissors. Glue.

Back to School ... Wild About Art

These are from Phyl's blog, "There's a Dragon in My Art Room."  Thanks so much for sharing these, Phyl.  I now know exactly what will be on my classroom walls this year.   ; )
If you haven't checked out Phyl's blog, you really should.  I can hardly wait to see what she's doing this year!

Back to School ...Welcome to Our Hive

Here is a back to school bulletin board for a third grade classroom.  I thought that it might be a good springboard for art room bulletin board ideas.  I like how she has exploded the space around the door to include it as a design element.

In my county, we are not allowed to hang paper next to a door, but I think the idea could be applied to bulletin boards in my classroom.

This is from the blog:  Room Mom 101.

Back to School

Oooooh, such glare on these photos!

I used a theme from a showcase further down on the blog:  "Today is a Great Day to Learn Something New." I am filling these showcases with manipulatives and interesting study items. I tried to have this showcase represent a broad range of school subjects. This showcase is in our front hall, next to our school office.
